I mean... when you have loads of money and all the awesome skins you'll ever need..... what do you do with them? Aren't they there to support the gaming, rather than the other way around? ...
In any case... farming is still cheating the system in my opinion.... but clearly not in A-Net's (mostly because so many people do it, and parts of the game become almost unviable if not for farming).

As I said, I chest farm quite a bit so the money I am putting into it is hardly being replaced by what I am selling even if the weapon is 100k + ecto. I even further stated that I am trying to max the title. Sorry to say this but yes A-Net should reward their paying customers with things that keep them coming back for more. Seriously, what would the point of doing UW be if not to farm? To get more XP? No. Explore? No it doesn't count. I do UW solo, dual and with groups and all for different reasons but I wouldn't go if it wasn't profitable. I don't have loads of money nor do I have all these awesome skins but I sure am happy when I get one so I can sell it to make more money for keys and armor. I have beat all three campaigns with numerous characters so what else is left to do after you've done every quest and mission? Work on titles, farm and PvP (and all have a correlation).

I disagree with Herb here. As an avid merchant myself, there is no real thing of playing the market so to speak. The way I merchant is I spot good deals and get LUCKY that people do not know the real value of their item. Really, there is no skill or so persay to merchant, and I've merchanted 1.5mil+ items pretty quickly.

Then we come to the question, what is called rare when everyone can get it?
Rare items are meant to be rare, low availability and a high demand.

Then i'll blame you for making the collassal scimitar easier to get for the avarege gamer, thanks chap.
I don't see the harm of making some skins less rare, theyre will always be rare skins out there to get and if i might be so rude it's just selfish to be anrgy that they won't be that rare anymore.
Complain when anet makes all skins easy to get not when 1 or 2 skins drop in rarity.
I'm aware that some might have spended to much money buying them or spending a lot of time farming one, sorry but you'll have to deal with the fact that not everything works as you want it to.

Is it rare for the player or rare for the community? Some here would argue the latter, but I doubt that was ever Anet's intention.
Believe it or not, some people just play through the game and barely notice the "economy", except for the spamming part. We all need nice unusual drops from time to time, to keep us interested, regardless of how we play. That's how games have always been designed. Better stuff, the further you get - not just better stuff, the more you play the same area over and over...
I'm personally sick to death of hearing people talk about how hard they've worked. This is a game, it's entertainment. It's not supporting your family, it isn't improving your future - make as much virtual money as you like, but you're being no more productive than if you spent your time alphabetizing a porn collection.
Trading is a perfectly fine peripheral elemant of the game, but it is just a peripheral elemant. I think sometimes some of you forget that.

This makes ABSOLUTELY zero sense and the logic is flawed big time. If EVERYONE deserves/has rare skinned weapons how is that weapon rare? If all rares were widely available and common to everyone and their mom where would the "real" rare items be? The fact is they wouldn't exist. Half the population would quit in a short period of time.
1)No more rares
2)Less farmers since their are less rares
3)Since everything is plentiful a large chunk of the population can either find or buy everything they ever wanted in a very short period of time
4)Replay value = partially dead
5)Supply > Demand = market plummets to oblivion
We need these vanity items to stay rare to give people things to do and goals to achieve. Nuff said!

I'm willing to bet thousands of people already had it in mind that C.Scimitars among other things would be attainable the day HM was released. Your posts/threads ONLY confirmed what alot of us probably already knew.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10145956 I've had my hunches as well on a few things. Could've added more but it was late and I was tired. The thread was written right after HM was released and just before the loot scaling was fixed.

If that really happens I'd demand a refund on the game. I bought Guild Wars not Clone Wars.

Want goals? Go get some really hard title.
Want vanity? Go get FoW armour or try for a HoH drop.
I think most people are forgetting that this is only one skin, it's not like all rare skinned items are cheaper, and besides, Colossal's still cost well over 100k so that is hardly cheap in the eyes of an average player. People are forgetting about the exclusive items that drop in the HoH, or the rare items that Mallyx drops, so there is still loads of rare items to try and obtain. This reply is to you, and everyone else who criticised my comment. I agree some weapons should be truly rare, but why resign the average player to only having common weapons, and saving the best for the richest? Not everyone wants to farm.

I, being a person that only plays 3 hours a week, believe that i should be able to buy the same uber rare weapons as a person who plays 5 hours a day farming ectos non-stop because I dont think i should have to work for anything I want. I dont want to grind.
Oh well, I guess ill go back to my job of selling oranges, where i get paid the same salary as a Brain Surgon. Yay "equality".

I not sure Colossals cost over 100k anymore, add Tattooed and Ornates to the list too. A few hours in Kamadan, LA and K'nang tonight and I couldn't shift a 15^50 r9 tattooed (admittadly purple) for love nore money - and I was only asking 55k in the hope of a very quick sale. Finally swapped it for 15k and an Urgoz Flatbow (which I was after anyway, so save another hassel buying one) and there were MANY MANY MANY other people trying to shift them too. People might be asking 100 + 15 ectos, but from what I saw tonight it doesn't look like they are selling them. I'm not that bothered, as I was vanquishing the area anyway, more annoyed about the hours it took to sell it as I find trading more and more tedious these days and I try to avoid it when possible.
